In 1889, McCormick began the business as a 25-year-old in Baltimore. His initial products, which included root beer, flavouring extracts, fruit syrups and juices, were sold door-to-door from a room and a cellar. McCormick entered the spice industry seven years later when it purchased the “F.G. Emmett Spice Company”.
Their products are sold in many countries and they are the largest manufacturer of spices and related food products in the world, based on revenue.
